Beware of covert parenting. Kids remember and
imitate those things we don't realize we are teaching. "Do as I say, not
as I do" just doesn't cut it. Griping about the boss or pastor or
government official... leads to disrespecting you. "Come on, we HAVE to
get to church for the work day," ... leads to reluctance to serve. "I
don't know WHERE they get this from. Must be the friends they hang
around." Nope. Parents are their kids greatest teachers. What are you
teaching covertly?
Proverbs 22:6 ~ Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Remember: More is caught than taught!
